One last Christmas wish for you all

 From the incomparable Queen:

Peace on Earth, baby. Merry Christmas to you all.

Linus knows

Linus knew what it's about decades ago.

Merry Christmas

But seriously, Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all ...

... except those who piss us off.

Have a merry Christmas.

Wow. We actually got some snow!

Not only did we get some snow on Wednesday, it was the first real snow in nearly two years. Plus it was a pre-Christmas snow, which almost never happens around here. Cherry on top, we got about 8 inches -- might've been more, but it was hard to tell because it turned to sleet and freezing rain late for the last several hours of precipitation. Nonetheless, it was impressive. Behold:

Here we are, looking to the west:

And looking to the east:

And looking out the back, to the north:

All taken early in the storm, of course. Nonetheless, gives a flavor. Got a lot deeper later. Jeb the Wonder Dog enjoyed playing and running around in it early. Not so much at night when the sleet came in. He hates ice-crusted snow. We also apparently got a little more Thursday night, as we awoke to this on Friday:

Just a dusting, but more is in the forecast. La Nina apparently is weakening, meaning earlier long-term forecasts for a warmer winter with less snow (like last year) might not hold up. We'll see.

This figures

I live in Maryland, and this is the "I Voted" sticker they give you. Mrs. Wolves voted by absentee (lazy, not scared of the WuFlu), and they emailed this to her:

Because this is Maryland, of COURSE it says "I Voted" twice.

Did anyone think this DIDN'T happen?

Apparently a Chinese doctor claims that China scrubbed COVID-19 death numbers significantly:
A doctor from Wuhan -- the epicenter of the novel coronavirus pandemic -- has accused the Chinese Communist Party of "information hiding" and that at least "another zero" should be added [to] the death toll in an interview with Japanese Media republished by Yahoo! News.
I can't believe anyone ever thought any different. After all:

OK, Romania is getting out of hand

A few days ago, I noted that Romania had logged more than 800 visits in one day, knocking the lackadaisical Swedes out of 10th place on the all time list by several hundred visits. Before that, I was pretty sure the United Kingdom -- with a little urging -- could pass Sweden and get back in the top 10. Unfortunately -- for the United Kingdom, at least -- Romania  soared about 400 visits past Sweden, putting 10th place even farther out of reach for the UK. Well, good news -- Romania, for reasons known only to about 700 Romanians or Romanian porn-seeking internet bots, has now zoomed past Canada into ninth place, bumping Canada to No. 10. That means that the UK now has 400 fewer visits to log in order to become No. 10. Who cares? Hell, I don't know. I just wonder what the fuck is going on in Romania.

Yeah, it's another stupid traffic post

For months now, Sweden has been No. 10 on the all-time visitors list, even though it has been several years since anyone from Sweden came by. I have occasionally prodded the United Kingdom to send more visitors my way, since the UK used to be kind of high up in the Top 10. Anyway, to no avail. Last week, Romania roared out of nowhere with nearly a thousand visitors in one day and took over the 10th spot on the all-time list. While I am grateful for the visits, I suspect they were looking for porn, as I include just enough language in my posts referring to porn, pron, pr0n, and how I don't post pictures of naked women so that search bots looking for porn sometimes come by here. Hey, traffic is traffic. Still, I kind of hope the UK will step up and overtake Romania, mostly because I like seeing them on the top 10 list. Also, I cannot help but note that Denmark continues to close in on Germany for the No. 3 spot, France is charging hard and threatening to overtake Denmark for the No. 4 spot. I mention this only so that my Denmark readers can take note and step up their game. Just sayin'.

Happy Independence Day

Never forget what it means.

The people on that mountain -- OK, maybe not Teddy Roosevelt -- helped create or advance a nation worth fighting and dying for. A few people want to convince us that what we've always known is not true. If this nation is so hateful, why do we have more voluntary citizens -- people who came here to be part of America -- than any other nation on earth?

Ghislaine Maxwell better be well-guarded

Like the drywall in your house, Ghislaine Maxwell isn't going to hang herself.

If you're confused:

Naturally, I'm sure the Clinton's had nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein's death and won't have anything to do with Ghislaine Maxwell's death.

Got zukes down on The Farm

I've been lax about posting on progress at The Farm. I keep taking pictures, and they keep getting outdated before I even get around to posting them. The Farm has been going great guns -- I'll give an update later. Today, though, the big news is the zucchini -- coming in very early, and large. This is in keeping with how things have been going -- bumper crops all around. Here is a picture of today's harvest:

Tons more on the vine in varying stages of growth. Lots of squash, as well, but too small to pick at the moment. I can almost smell the zucchini bread baking now.

It no longer matters who the statue is of -- the mob wants to erase history so they can start over: Update!

Believe me, this is not a good thing. The only comparable episodes I can think of involve the fall of the Soviet Union -- and then, only in the states formerly dominated by the Soviets, such as in Eastern Europe, where they eagerly tore down statues of Stalin and Lenin -- and the Red Guards rampage during the "Cultural Revolution" in the People's Republic of China, not to be confused with the democratic, rational, and well-governed Republic of China on Taiwan. The Cultural Revolution was intended to erase the "four olds" -- old customs, old habits, old culture, and old thinking. This, of course, included eliminating religion, freedom of thought, the idea that you could have any size family you wanted, that you could live and work where you wanted, that you could criticize the government, and other such archaic notions. Because the Chinese have a long history of government oppression, most folks went along with this. People who didn't were subjected to persecution for wrong thinking or speaking, or sometimes just being in the sights of someone who wanted to accuse the person of wrong thinking or wrong speaking. Those so accused were made to confess their sins, even if they had committed no sins, and be "re-educated" so they could in the future think "right." This turned out about as well as you might think. Does it sound familiar yet?

The only difference so far is that millions died during the Cultural Revolution. So far, the modern equivalent in the U.S. has only cost a bunch of people their jobs, most for simply disagreeing with the mob's way of thinking -- such as this previously anonymous woman who apparently merited the cultural cancellation treatment for something she did at a private Halloween party in 2018. The Washington Post saw fit to give this "story" nearly 3,000 words. Having spent 10 years in newspapers, I don't think I ever wrote, edited, or even saw published a single story that ran 3,000 words. That kind of length generally is reserved for world-changing events -- or, perhaps, stories where the newspaper, such as the Post or the New York Times, really wants to punish someone. Why this woman merited this treatment is beyond me, but she is not alone. The list of celebrities who have been "cancelled" in recent months keeps getting longer. Nobodies across the country are being cancelled constantly, as well, for careless remarks on Instagram or Twitter. Hell, the stepmother of the Atlanta police officer charged with fatally shooting Rayshard Brooks has been fired from her job just for being related to the guy by marriage.

So it comes as no surprise that the mob also wants to pretend the past never happened, or at least pretend some of it never happened. Any statute of any historical figure that meets with the mob's disapproval is now being torn down. Sure, they started with statues of  Confederate generals and others who were on the wrong side of the War Between the States, called the Civil War by most. Heck, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, in a moment of monumental cognitive dissonance -- pun intended -- has ordered the removal  from the Capitol of four former speakers of the House who served in the Confederate army. She did so without ever even noticing, apparently, that all four were Democrats.

The mob, being a mob, is even less selective in tearing down statues. Sure, Confederate figures are torn down, and Christopher Columbus, of course, but the mob doesn't stop there. A monument to the 54th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment -- the first all-black regiment during the War Between the States -- was recently defaced. Protesters in San Francisco recently tore down a statue of Union Gen. Ulysses S. Grant -- later a U.S. president -- who won the war against the slave-holding Confederacy. They also tore down statues of  Spanish author Miguel de Cervantes -- think Don Quixote, people -- a Catholic saint, and Francis Scott Key, who wrote "The Star Spangled Banner." In Portland, Oregon, the mob tore down a statue of George Washington.

Liberals used to tell us that of course statues of George Washington or Thomas Jefferson weren't next on the list. It was just those statues of the nasty, pro-slavery Confederates. Well, George Washington is down in Portland, and now the New York City Council wants to remove their statue of Thomas Jefferson. So how about you libtards shut up about what parts of history you won't erase. Your words mean fuck-all. The only statue the mob and the left won't try to get rid of is Karl Marx. Not sure there are any in this country, but if there are, those statues are safe. Ditto for Stalin. Lenin. And, yeah, Mao, whose lead the mob is currently following in tearing down statues that memorialize our national history. The mob doesn't like that history, and they want to erase it. At some point, we have to decide whether we want to stop the mob, or live in their world.

Update: Sorry, left out the Taliban and ISIS and their destruction of historic monuments and structures.

Gosh, if only I could live in this kind of Eutopia

Welcome to the CHAZ/CHOP, whatever those stand for, in the six blocks of Seattle taken over by a bunch of anarchists:

This person left their tent to go for a walk around the beautiful nation of . When they returned their laptop was stolen, $400, food and supplies. What follows is priceless:

View image on Twitter

If only I could have my shit taken and be told that it might not be theft, my stuff was just gone.

Of COURSE the left would never tear down the statues of Founding Fathers. Or, maybe not.

I mean, it's not like they hate this country, right?

Or maybe they they do.
