What was yesterday? Fucking game day, people!

Fuck a bunch of Thursday night Patriots losing to the Chiefs bullshit -- I guess 19-0 is no longer a discussion for the Patriots -- yesterday was the real start of the NFL season. From 1 p.m. Eastern Time until damn near midnight, it was wall-to-wall football. Smack dab in the middle of the schedule was the game between two top Super Bowl contenders from the NFC, Green Bay and Seattle. Unexpectedly, Green Bay won because of their defense, which sucked last year, at least against the pass. Improvements have been made.

I'm not sure improvements have been made to the game food, but I will say that the food served Sunday night was at least as good as anything served last year. Top notch, people. Married Into Wolves came by to see the game, while Cpl. Wolves had to work. But we had great food regardless.

Because we pretty much always do, we had stuffed potato skins:

In recognition of the damn-near-dinner-time game, we had bacon-cheeseburger macaroni and cheese:

We also had brown-sugar bacon dogs to fill out the protein-heavy lineup:

I had considered doing onion rings, but decided not to for a variety of reasons, and time constraints prevented me from doing a veggie dip tray, which accounts for the lack of vegetable matter on the menu. Look, if you want a balanced, nutritious meal, quit fucking coming here. This is game food, damn it.

The Packers won, the food was good. Nice start to the season.

I got all the game food porn you can handle

Of course, we had french dip and dirty diapers, as they were the poll winners. We also had stuffed potato skins, because we always do. Thought about adding a fourth element, possibly even a new game food item, but really didn't have time, mostly because we are doing a triple-play food porn post. I was busy in the kitchen from about 9 am right up until game time at 1 pm. So there's that. I'm a day late on the actual posting, but yesterday was quite a day around here. Anyway, here we are. First, of course, we had stuffed potato skins, because that's how we start at Chez Wolves on NFL Sundays:

We featured this next item last week in a first-time game food porn post, with the step-by-step instructions. The dirty diapers were so good, despite the disgusting name, that they made the menu again this week, thanks to reader votes:

We also had mini-French dip sandwiches, the other game food poll winner:

Pretty good stuff, especially coupled with the serious ass-whipping the Packers laid on the Panthers. I have a buddy at work who is a big Panthers fan. He texted me a little smack talk after each of the first three plays of the game (Packers had the ball). The texts were "BS" after a good Eddie Lacey run, "BS" after another such run, then "Hah!" after an Aaron Rodgers sack. Oddly enough, that was it for the rest of the game. I think he was busy measuring rope and practicing his knot-tying.

I expect to get a game food poll up for this week once I work out what will be on the list for folks to vote on. In the meantime, stay tuned for the other two parts of the food porn triple play.

A little heart attack game food porn for you, and Call Me Maybe

By that, of course, I am referring more to the game than the food, although I don't think anyone is arguing that my game food is good for you. It's just good. Anyway, the Packers had to rely on Aaron Rodgers to pull things out, which he did at the last second. I prefer my Packers wins to be pretty much in the bag by halftime, but that game was just some good football. Miami's defense kept them in it, then their offense came alive, and, ultimately, Rodgers pulled it out. Great game.

And great game food. We had, of course, meatballs:

They were the winner in the game food poll, so there they were. The second-place finisher in the poll, nachos, also made the list:

Naturally, we had stuffed skins:

We had one other item, but that will be the subject of a separate post, because it was a new recipe, so we have a step-by-step for that one. And it was really fucking good. So stay tuned. Hope your team did well today. To finish this post off, we have a two-parter. First, the Miami Dolphins cheerleaders doing a sing-along video to Carly Jepson's "Call Me Maybe:"

Oh, but we can do better than that. Some Army Special Forces guys in Afghanistan -- you can tell they are Special Forces by the haircuts and facial hair -- did their own video to the song  in honor of the Miami cheerleaders, and it is well worth a look. Ladies, you may thank me later in the comments:
