Sad to say this story wasn't covered more because no gun was involved

This happened earlier in March and was reported locally in Charleston, S.C., on March 11. I've been waiting to see whether the national media would care. Despite the fact that four people were killed, the answer to national media caring is a resounding "no." Why? Two reasons. First, black on black crime. Second, no gun involved, and especially no scary "assault weapon." Of course, that might be because people in this country are more likely to be killed in the manner used here than by a rifle, semi-automatic or otherwise, and regardless of how scary the rifle looks. How were they killed? Read on:
CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - An incident report released in a quadruple homicide Saturday morning at a home in Charleston County describes the scene investigators found when they arrived.
The coroner's office identified the victims as 72-year-old Joseph Manigault, 69-year-old Rose Manigault, 42-year-old Kenya Manigault and 15-year-old Faith Manigault.
All were listed as being from Mount Pleasant, though their home is outside of the city limits in an unincorporated part of Charleston County.
The four victims all died from blunt trauma, according to Charleston County Deputy Coroner Kimberly Rhoton.
The Manigault's grandson, 22-year-old Lovequawn Matthew Shaire Scott, was arrested on Saturday for their deaths and charged with four counts of murder.
Blunt trauma? What's that? It means he beat them to death. No gun. No knife. No drama, just blunt trauma. Hence, no national coverage wailing about how we need more gun control. Do we need more fist control? Even this lefty website admits that rifles -- read, "assault weapons" kill fewer people than hammers, rocks, fists, etc., although the site gets a little snarky to try and minimize the statistic.
