About the game food porn poll

Sorry for the absence. We had the bye week, then another 8:30 game, which is not conducive to a game food poll, because it is post-dinner and there's not much we can do, food-wise, at that point. This week, we have the Eagles at 4:30 pm, which normally would be excellent territory for a game food poll, because of the dinner/appetizer possibilities. Here, though we have extenuating circumstances. The parents of Marrying Into Wolves are coming over to discuss wedding plans and watch the game, so the game food will be dinner-like but also committee-chosen. So the game food poll will return next week. For this week, I really hope to spring a new dish on the future in-laws, so we can have that for game food porn. I guess we'll have to see.

Vote in the game food poll!

The Packers are the Monday night game for week 9 (this coming weekend) so the game food poll is for week 10. That gives you lots of time to vote, so vote early and often. I'm hard at work searching for new game food recipes for the second half of the season, so look forward to those. In the meantime, vote!

The people have spoken

Looks like the winners for the Week 6 game food poll are nachos and meat balls. Interesting combination, but the voters have spoken. I am already compiling my ingredients shopping list. I'll be posting a poll for Week 7 as soon as I decide what the choices should be. Stay tuned.

Still a few days to help decide what the game food porn will be next week. Nachos had a strong lead, bu the meatballs have surged into a tie. Note that a search for "game food porn" on Eff You will give you posts on all the food porn selections if you are having trouble deciding. Just trying to be helpful

Commenter Angelica asks, "What is [the] food porn poll? Can anyone explain?" Well, in the Eff You spirit of enriching your world and expanding your horizons -- I am a superhero, after all -- I'm here to explain. During the football season, I weekly posted pictures of the various appetizers and other dishes I prepared as game food, to be consumed along with copious quantities of beer while watching the Green Bay Packers. The "game food" posts came to be known as "food porn," and a tradition was born.

With the football season over, someone asked me if I planned to continue with off-season food porn posts. I figured I would put it to the readers of Eff You, and put up a poll to let folks vote. So, Angelica, the poll is posted in the upper-right corner of this blog. Right now, it is immediately to the right of this post. You still have a day left to vote.

Food porn deadline approaching

Less than two days to vote in the food porn poll, although the results are a foregone conclusion. Off-season food porn will continue. There are no "no" votes. The only dispute is whether there should be step-by-step photos, or whether food porn should only feature "funky" recipes, which of course is defined by me. In any event, you can probably still vote two more times -- you get one per day, near as I can tell -- so if you want step-by-step photos, you currently are losing. Get with it.

BTW, exercise your right to vote

Only nine days left to vote in the poll on whether there should be off-season food porn. So far it looks like the answer is "yes," but I would like to see more votes. This is a lot of work, kids. On the other hand, just test-drove a recipe for orange chicken that went over well with Wolves-affiliated individuals. No photos -- need to see the vote totals first. Cast your ballot!
