According to an informal poll, the front windowsill remains the favorite place for kit-tays to do their thing:

Kitties and such
Time, I suppose, for the kit-tay roundup, photo edition. Mrs. Wolves has been supplying me with numerous kit-tay photos of the adorable variety, and at some point I am obligated to put them on the blog. And so, without further ado, I do so.
Here is a rare sight -- both sisters, Murder and Mayhem, in the wolf paws box at the same time. (The wolf paws box is so named because of a scarf with wolf paws at each end that was part of a Game of Thrones Halloween costume a couple years ago, which scarf now provides some of the bedding in the wolf paws box.) No photo of the wolf paws is available as the wolf paws are completely covered by kit-tays:
Anytime, anywhere, if there is a bag, a kit-tay will get in it:
They also like to make camp on Mrs. Wolves' legs before she can get out of bed in the morning:
Another wolf paws box shot:
Sometimes, paws come shooting out from the strangest places:
Just to show that the sisters are not the only cats who like to get into bags, here is Mischief with a bag around her neck that originally held a Christmas present:
OK, housecleaning complete with respect to kit-tay photos.

Even when you can't tell what the hell they're doing
Them kitties are cute, even when it's not clear what is going on:
Behind the blinds, I'm not even sure what they're up to. Shadow boxing? I don't know:
But they're doing it, it's cute, and Mrs. Wolves takes pictures of it. So deal with it.

Well, why shouldn't they?
The cats tend to relax wherever they choose, and Mrs. Wolves tends to photograph them in those places. Here, Murder decides that the bathroom sink is as good a place as any to chill out:
Naturally, though, the sisters, Murder and Mayhem, generally prefer an open window:
This, of course, means that Mrs. Wolves will always open a window for them, regardless of the temperature, winter or summer. This often has sub-optimal results on the in-house temperature, but I am not allowed to suggest that the kit-tays not get what they want.

Not sure how she ever gets to brush her teeth
Mrs. Wolves is often called upon by the kit-tays to turn on the faucet in the bathroom sink so the kit-tays can drink. She always does so. In the morning, this can make it difficult to brush her teeth:
No, really:
I'm not kidding:
Seriously difficult:
I don't have this problem because I don't let the kit-tays drink from the sink while I am brushing my teeth. This, apparently, makes me a cruel person.

Hard to make a bed around here
I don't know if all cats do this, but our cats flock to bed-making like moths to a flame. Start flapping sheets, and they come a-running. This can make it difficult to change sheets. These photos actually are in reverse order, but they illustrate our cats' affinity for interfering with bed-making. They like to lie around on top of the process and groom themselves:
They also like to roll around and play in the middle of the process:
And, of course, they like to crawl into the unspread covers and complicate efforts to spread things out:
All in all, it can be a little difficult to get a bed made around here.

Cheap posts. Got a problem with that?
Yeah, I'm posting kitty pictures just to get some posts up. After my abysmal performance in March, post-wise and traffic-wise, I have to make amends. Anyway, people love kitty photos, right?
Haunches at the bridge
OK, now this is what I call standing watch. These kitties are focused on protecting the homestead. Well, maybe no Mischief. Not clear what she's focused on:
I feel confident that they will pounce upon any intruder:
I hope they're not our only line of defense.
But Murder and Mayhem definitely look like Horatius at the bridge.

They do tend to lounge about in unusual ways
Here, Murder manages to find herself neck-deep in wrapping paper:
And again:
While Mischief seems to be fond of, well, I'm not sure what, but she is often sighted on her back, reaching for the sky. Kinda weird:
Not sure how Mayhem avoided inclusion in this series, but Mrs. Wolves took the pictures, so I assume Mayhem acted relatively normal when these were taken.

I don't know why she does this, she just does
For reasons that escape me, Mayhem likes to come into the bathroom in the morning while I am brushing my teeth and jump up on my left shoulder. She does this pretty much every day. She has taken to waiting on the toilet or sink while I am in the shower, so that when I come out, there she is. Usually, she waits until I get dressed and come back the the bathroom to brush my teeth before she heads for the shoulder, but not always.
She also used to leave it alone on weekends, because I get up so much later. No more. So now I get kit-tay on the shoulder everyday until she decides it is time to get down. During the week, this works OK because I go to put food in their bowls, and she wants down. Weekends are a different story, and I can wind up walking around the house for quite some time with a cat on my shoulder, as here:
She gets quite comfy, actually.

Sure, it's another kit-tay post
Life is not complete without cute kit-tay pictures. So here you go. No damn idea who Mayhem is snuggling here:
Yet another morning where Mrs. Wolves wakes up covered with kit-tays:
Kit-tay fix? Check. Food porn coming.

Cooler weather must be here
How else to explain the kit-tays' sudden desire to sleep on top of a warmth-emitting entity: Here they are on Mrs. Wolves on morning earlier this week:
No, Mischief doesn't often join in, but the sisters do. Guess winter is coming.

Kit-tays being cute. Shocker
When it comes to places they choose to sleep, dogs like to be comfortable. I'm not sure what criteria cats apply to that decision. If Mrs. Wolves' laptop is open, Mischief is there:
Murder seems to prefer more comfortable spots, such as chairs with blankets in them:
Yeah, it's Mayhem:
If there is a box involve, Mischief is there:

And then we have stuff like this. Not clear, at least at first, which of the kit-tays is under the sofa cover:
Yeah, it's Mayhem:
Several hours later, she is still there. Not sure what drives these cats.

You can tell a lot about a cat from -- wait a minute, from WHAT?
Apparently cats curl their toes in when they are feeling safe and contented. By that standard, Mayhem feels pretty damn safe and contented:
Personally, I'm a dog guy, but Mrs. Wolves tells me these things, so I nod and say, "I see." So you will, too.

They like lying in the window, what can I say?
The sisters, Murder and Mayhem, really like lying in the front window. After knocking out the screen a couple times, I finally had to nail the sucker in place, because they really like to roll right up against that sucker:
The screen hasn't fallen out since I put nails in, and they don't seem traumatized by the times the screen fell out and dumped them onto the ground, so I guess all is well. For them, anyway. Leaving the window open so they can get some screen time makes it hard to cool the house. But I already lost that argument.

Good thing the kit-tays weren't there
Mrs. Wolves finally tracked down the bunny that the kit-tays have been eyeing hungrily through the window:
The bunny was hanging out by a neighbor's porch:
Pretty bold for such a hunted animal:
Lord know the kit-tays want to eat her.

These cats will play with anything
Cpl Wolves came by the other day. While he was here, he brushed Jeb the Wonder Dog. Before anyone could clean up the pile of hair, Murder got into it:
Big time:
She seemed really disappointed when we took the dog fur away.
