I have been extremely busy lately, working, not working, and working on finding a way out of Temp Town. I have been doing a fair amount of freelance writing. Alas, this generally is not lucrative enough to give up temping, but I am working on that angle. All of this adds up to me not posting very much. My posts-per-month numbers lately have looked a lot like the numbers from the beginning of the blog -- really fucking low.
Not surprisingly, low numbers of posts equals low numbers of visitors. My traffic numbers likewise are down to the level of those seen in the early days of the blog.
Well, fuck that. Have a holly, jolly Christmas, bitches, because December numbers are going up. I am on a heavy overtime project, and I am doing a bunch of freelance writing, and I don't care if I ever sleep again. Posts are coming. Deal with it.
Maybe it was just the nature of the job today, but my plan to email myself posts while at work and put them up when I get home didn't work today. Rethinking, and maybe I'll come up with something that does not involve me not sleeping, ever.
After hitting a record 72 posts in December 2014, I was hoping to average three posts per day in January 2015. That would be 93 posts. I think this is post number 89 for the month, and I only have 45 minutes to do 4 more. Frankly, I don't think I have it in me. I feel like I have let Eff You followers down. On the other hand, how many posts did you suckers put up this month? Yeah, gotta keep things in perspective. Feel free to send me hate mail in the comments.

Of course not. Anyway, Final count for posts in December was the highest in the history of the blog with 72, easily topping June 2014, which set the previous high at 62. Viewership for the month also was solid, coming in fifth overall in the history of the blog. So thanks to everyone who has come by, keep coming and bring your friends. As you ease out of your hangover, I will ease you into the new year with some soothing music to help your aching head:

Lotta work, not a lot of time to do much else, unfortunately. The project that was dead that I got called back to seems to be adding more people and is offering us nearly 90 hours a week, so it looks healthy enough from here. It's not often you see a swordfish that is not only on the deck but hanging by its tail from the trophy scale escape back into the water and resume a health run, but that's what this looks like so far. Should be here a few weeks anyway, which means not enough sleep because I'll be trying harder to post. Took today off, settled for a 70-hour week. Probably go longer next week. Guess I'll be posting from behind enemy lines. Anyway, later today I should have a food porn post, maybe a farm post, a kit-tay post, and we'll see what else we get.
Traffic has been rather desultory lately, but not for lack of trying. I posted 62 times in June - better than twice a day -- and shattered the old Eff You record for posts in one month set in December 2013. That month I put up 48 posts -- I must have been home a lot because of snow. I'd have to look. Anyway, this is a big jump from that, like 33 percent. So I've got that going for me.
Of course, traffic was flat, so it doesn't seem to have helped. Which means that, like the record for posts in a month, I am shattered.
Sure, it's just an Eff You record, but a record's a record, right? Anyway, the most times I posted on this blog in a single month ws 48, in December 2013. Yeah, that one still baffles me, too. The fuck was going on in December? Hell, I don't know. The next most was May of this year, when I posted 44 times.
With 10 days left, I have posted 42 times in June. Seems likely that we will soon have a new Eff You record for number of posts in a calendar month, although I suppose I still could get hit by a bus. Anyway, for what's it's worth, which is nothing, there it is.
As The Keeper of the Blog (that's Mr. Eff You, to you) I have all kinds of statistics at my disposal regarding visitors, etc. One thing that puzzles me is that week in, week out, month after month, far and away the most popular post on this blog is The fuck's a durecho?. It is the most-read post all-time by a mile, and it is always the most read post in any given week. This is really puzzling. Any possible explanations will be considered.
The one-year anniversary of this blog passed unnoticed two weeks ago. The first post, Begin at the Beginning, set out the basic premise of this blog, which is, primarily, to tell the story of contract attorneys. I do that mostly through my own experience, because I really can't do it any other way. Sure, I include stuff that is passed along to me, but when people don't pass shit along, I can't share it. The obvious solution, if we hope to improve how well this blog cover contract attorneys, is for you lazy sacks to send me ideas of posts, descriptions of things that have happened to you and the like. You won't do that, got no room to complain.
