So now he's Obama's "good friend"?

At the National Prayer Breakfast today, Emperor Barry I in his remarks greeted the Dalai Lama as his "good friend":
Obama offered a special welcome to a "good friend," the Dalai Lama, seated at a table in front of the dais among the audience of 3,600. Earlier Obama, seated at the head table, pressed his hands together in a prayer-like position and bowed his head toward the Dalai Lama, then gave him a wave and a broad smile.
It was the first time the president and the Tibetan Buddhist leader attended the same public event, with China objecting to foreign leaders meeting with the Dalai Lama because of his quest for greater Tibetan autonomy from Beijing. Obama's three previous meetings with the Dalai Lama have been private because of the sensitivity of the situation.
But in a show of White House support for the Dalai Lama, he was seated at a table with top Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett. Actor Richard Gere, a friend and follower of the Dalai Lama, was also nearby. Meanwhile, outside, hundreds of demonstrators banged drums and waved Tibetan flags under heavy police presence.
Imagine the Dalai Lama's surprise, given his treatment the last time he met his "good friend" Emperor Barry I:
WASHINGTON — Yes, that’s the Dalai Lama leaving the White HouseThursday afternoon via the back door – into a mound of trash. His Holiness had just finished his meeting with President Obama and was heading out to the “stakeout area,” where a crush of reporters awaited him. That’s what the Dalai Lama is pointing at.
That's right -- they made him leave by the back door, trying not to piss off the Chinese:

Yeah, I don't think the Dalai Lama believed him, either.

I swear, I have never spiralized anything in my life

I'm still trying to figure out what I ordered that made Amazon send me and email touting shit like this:

Believe me, I cut off 90 percent of the shit listed. I just can't understand how they thought I would care. I have never expressed any interest in spiralizing anything. Sounds kinky. Sometimes Amazon baffles me.

Kit-tay: It's what's for dinner

Look, I am not the one who put the kitten in the pot. She got in all by herself:

Does she want to be eaten? Or did she enter the pot hoping it had food in it? Hmmmmm.

A few more unemployment haikus

With the demise of the Central America project, clearly there is only one thing left to do -- OK, two things. But after I sit around drinking beer and feeling sorry for myself, it's time for haiku. Specifically, unemployment haiku:

Project died early.
No shock, but not happy time.
How much beer in house?

So how many days
Make a project good?
Eight is not enough.

Still, all is not lost.
Things could be worse, but I have
New gig on Monday.

Who knew Hitler cared so much about football?

Apparently, he does:

Or did. Or something.

Almost didn't get to blog about this

Since the project ended so quickly, I almost was deprived of the opportunity to write about a guy on the project who is, apparently, Dick van Dyke's evil twin. This dude would walk around the suite talking to himself, never actually bothering to sit down and work. It wasn't until I actually heard his voice that I realized who he looked like. Dick van Dyke:

Yes, that's what he looked like. But talking to himself. Anyway, Dick van Dyke's evil twin wasn't there Monday or today, apparently because he was always wandering around talking to himself and never actually coding documents. Pretty sure he got cut for non-production. On the other hand, we'll never know, because now everybody has been cut.

I don't think this should surprise anyone, really

Best football city in the country? Hello? Titletown, USA? That's right, Green Bay, Wisconsin:
Personal finance company WalletHub determined Green Bay was the best place for football fans. East Lansing, Mich., was second.
WalletHub analyzed 142 U.S. cities with at least one college or professional football team based on 11 key metrics, ranging from the number of NFL and college football teams to average ticket prices.
A bunch of factors apparently went into the rankings. Add them all up, and the best football city in America is the smallest football city in the NFL. Cool. Anyone who has been to a game at Lambeau knows it is true.
