Not sure if the visitor came from the Greek side or the Turkish side, but we have our first Eff You visitor from Cyprus. Cyprus is in a strategic location in the Eastern Med, which means damn near everybody of consequence has occupied it over the ages, starting with Alexander the Great. The Brits took control in the late 19th century and granted independence in 1960. Turkey invaded in 1974 and took over about half the island. While the Republic of Cyprus government in theory rules all the island, the Turkish part is controlled by Turkey.
Cyprus is up to its butt in copper and is a great place from which to spy on the rest of the Middle East. Cyprus used to be a big banking center for folks who prize secrecy, but the financial collapse in 2012 kind of scotched that. Cyprus is close to an economic basket case these days.
