Screw gun control, we need Belgian control!

Belgium, a nation where euthansia has been legal for 13 years and last year legalized euthanizing children, without age limit, apparently has decided that it won't be euthanizing a serial murderer-rapist:
The Belgian serial rapist and murderer will not be killed later this week after doctors pulled out of of the euthanasia procedure.
Frank Van den Bleeken was to be granted his wish to die by a medical euthasia procedure in the infirmary of Bruges prison on Sunday until doctors withdrew, it is thought, on legal grounds.
Not a lot of insight, apparently, into why the Belgian doctors declined to off the killer. He's already been in prison for 30 years, apparently, and was tired of it. Maybe he was just hoping for a little more "look at me" after all these years, but called it off before anyone would actually pull the trigger, so to speak.

But I don't really care about crime and punishment in Belgium. I'm just waiting for the Flemish-Walloon civil war. Until then, though, it seems to me that liberals in this country always screaming for gun control are asking for the wrong thing:  we need to stop the murdering madness that is the Belgian medical community:
At least at the moment, Belgium can’t use Van den Bleeken to set a new euthanasia record for 2015. In 2013, they hit an apex of 1,807 medical homicides, and data is not yet available for 2014. In comparison, the US had 322 homicides by rifles in 2012 — which include only in part the kind of assault weapons that are supposedly a national health issue here — which comes to a sixth of the euthanasia incidents in Belgium. That’s a country with a population of only 11 million people, or about 1/30th that of the US. The overall US murder rate in 2012 was 3.8 in every 100,000; the overall euthanasia rate in Belgium was 16.3 out of every 100,000 people in 2013. Sleep well tonight, Belgians.
These people are blood-thirsty lunatics! Where's the outrage? Oh wait, so-called progressives have always been in favor of euthanasia, which in the form of progressives' eugenics policies is the ultimate exercise of state control over individual lives. Belgium, apparently, has made it a matter of individual choice, but that sounds like a slippery slope to me. And whatever happened to the Hippocratic Oath -- "First, do no harm."? In this country, some of us joke that guns don't kill people, bullets do. In Belgium, I guess the joke is, guns don't kill people, doctors do.
